Customer Requirement

The requirement for a train maintenance workshop came from a UK based client specialising in the manufacture of rolling stock. Part of their operation included the leasing of an existing workshop on their site in the Midlands. When the lease of this building was taken over by another company, they needed to find an alternative covered area to work on the trains. And, of course, it needed to be built over the track to enable the easy transfer in and out of the trains.

Solution

The client was already educated in temporary buildings and workshops as another rail company on site was using an HTS INDUSTRIAL workshop building for the same purpose. This knowledge meant they were able to go directly to HTS as the main manufacturer without needing to carry out any time intensive research or cost comparison exercises. As a fast turnaround was important to ensure no downtime, this direct route to the manufacturer was invaluable. The following train workshop was specified, manufactured and took just 4 days to install on site.
